A little of a lull in posts

I hadn't posted anything in a few days because I decided that while I went on vacation I was going to disconnect from anything internet related.

My husband and my dad were both shocked to learn I hadn't brought my laptop with me, and when that happened, I realized just how much I was connected in. It was not a great feeling. What was a good feeling though was to spend time with my wonderful family on this trip and just focus on them and me and doing whatever we could that was fun.

We took ourselves to Savannah, Ga, where most of you don't know is where I went to school for my college, but before that I had went quite a few summers with my best friend whose Aunt lives there as well. Savannah truly is my second home. I always feel at home there like it was always meant to be.

Our first day there, which we left early on a Friday morning, we arrived a little after 1 pm. Mind you, we only live 2 and a half hours away. After getting settled into our hotel we decided to head out to Oatland Island which is a wild life refuge. I love that place! It was terribly hot and humid, typical of the south where its hot but more so MUGGY, which gives you this sticky heavy feeling. I have lived in the south my whole life and I still haven't gotten used to it, but this summer has been pretty tame compared to our past ones. Anyway! I am going to post a link to Oatland Island so if anyone is interested or taking a trip to Savannah any time soon you can check this place out.

Our Dinner that night was downtown river street, it was also first Friday there which means fireworks! We decided to try Joe's crab shack down there which is a new addition. It wasn't bad but it was loud, it was a bit pricy, and I was a bit disappointed in the portion sizes, but honestly it was enough to fill me up and be satisfied without over stuffing myself like a glutton.

Our second day (Saturday) we decided was our beach day. We decided to head to the north beach area which is by Old Fort Screven and the Tybee Island Lighthouse. We chose that because it isn't as crowded as South Beach area where the Tybee Pier is, and with a 3 and a half year old who doesn't like crowds it worked perfect for us. Our dinner was at the Savannah Mall at Texas Roadhouse which was amazing and never disappoints me! We then took Sascha, my daughter, to the double carousel in the mall to ride with my dad, she loved it! Later that night we met up with my good friends and had half priced Milkshakes and Sonic. I ordered Peanut Butter and Jelly, and it tasted just like it. So good.

Sunday we grabbed a quick drive through breakfast and headed home early as I had to come back and do housely duties of laundry, and catch up on work I missed.

If you ever get a chance to go to Savannah, GA for vacation, do it! The place is so beautiful and rich with history. This website is a great site to see what is going on what there is to do.
